On 12 February 1938, the International Fiscal Association (IFA) was founded, today exactly 75 years ago. In these years IFA has developed from a small and more Europe oriented organization, into a truly global independent association with more than 12.000 members and 63 Branches. Since the Second World War IFA has played an essential role in the development of certain principles of international taxation.
On Saturday 2 February 2013, IFA celebrated its 75th Anniversary. A jubilee conference took place in the Peace Palace in The Hague, The Netherlands, the same place where IFA was founded in 1938. The conference was attended by 150 academics, public officials, tax advisors and business tax officers from various countries around the world
